Talent Search Rules
Age Eligibility
The individual must be a Vincentian that is at least 4 years old by July 1, 2025 and no more than 35 years old by July 15, 2025;
Individual Eligibility
An individual can only be registered once, that is, he cannot be registered as an individual and also a part of a wider group;
Eligible Acts
Singing, Dancing, Drama, Spoken Word, Comedian, Instrument Playing, Acts of Magic, Disc Jockey, Variety;
Number of Performers
The number of performers per act is limited to a maximum of 6 persons.
Performances
Subjected to the discretion of the judges, via majority rule, the content must not be nude, offensive, discriminatory or similar in nature, if deemed to be the case the act will be disqualified and no longer be allowed to participate.
Registration
Registration will open for a fixed period before the first preliminary round. Registrations will be do through the Council’s website.
Auditions
Each act will have a minimum of 90 seconds and a maximum of 120 seconds to perform in the preliminary rounds and a minimum of 2 minutes and a maximum of 5 minutes to perform from the semi-final and final.
Semi-final and Final
The semi-final will see 12 acts performing. Six acts will make it into the final. Each act will perform once in the finals.
Judges
There will be a panel of judges and a maximum of two guest judges are allowed at any given time who will not contribute to the score of the act.
Order of Performance
A randomiser would be used to determine the order in which the acts will perform. The order of performance will be published.
Penalties
A total of 5 minutes will be deducted for each minute the act goes beyond the stipulated time. A minute is counted at the beginning of the minute, that is, if the stipulated time is one minute and the act goes for 1 minute and 1 second a penalty will be incurred. If the act goes to 2 minutes 1 second another penalty will be incurred.
Scoring
Judging
Each stage of the competition will carry a score from the judges of 65%
Judging Criteria (Average Method)
- Stage Presence and Confidence-15%
- Execution-25%
- Creativity and Originality-10%
- Crowd Response- 15%
Voting
- The voting will take place through the Council’s website
- Voting will commence after the completion of each preliminary round.
- Each preliminary round will have the same number of days opened to voting.
- An individual can only vote once per account but would be allowed to vote on multiple preliminary rounds
- Voting in the finals will commence after all the acts have performed and will be opened for two hours. The winner will be decided based on the aggregated scores across all the stages.
Conflict of Interest
In the event that there is a potential conflict of interest or any event of a similar nature the party or parties involved will be asked by the Chairman of the Council to recuse him or herself from the process.
