Background 

The Prime Ministerial Advisory Council on Youth (PMACY) was approved by the Cabinet on September 13, 2023. Subsequent to the approval, the Council was officially launched on Monday 23 October 2023. The PMACY is aimed at enhancing youth involvement and the decision making of the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines through a number of cross-cutting projects, policies, recommendations and programs that add value to youth development and the whole nation.

The PMACY consists of a Core Committee and various Sectoral Committees. The Core Committee comprises of a Chairman, Deputy Chairman, Secretary, Advisor and Committee members whereas each Sectoral Committees consists of a Chairperson and other committee members. Currently, there are 18 sectors namely:

Our Mission

Through youth empowerment and inclusion, we strive to develop the youth and enhance the Government’s decision-making process, the standard of living for all stakeholders with a diverse portfolio of analytical solutions deep-rooted in data and comprehensive research.

   Our Objectives

 
    1. To advise the Government and advocate for the planning, development, implementation and integration of Government policies, projects and programs concerning the youth for further development.
    2. To consult with the youth across communities and Government agencies on issues and policies concerning the youth.
    3. To enhance competence, wealth creation and technical skills across multiple facets to foster greater resilience and sustainability.
    4. Monitor and evaluate legislation and Government policies governing the sectors under consideration, re-engineering for greater efficiency.
    5. To positively incorporate the voices of the youth in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and to engender a spirit of decision-making in the affairs of the country.
