Award Description: An individual who showed exceptional promise in crop and animal production and incorporates modern and sustainable farming techniques.

Mr. Porter attended the Mountain View Adventist Academy and started farming at the age of 18 years. He practices mix farming. He rears animals and plants a mixture of short crops such as cucumbers, string beans, eddoes and dashen.

Ms. Kemba-Aisli Shoy attended the Bishops College Kingstown and has certificates in early childhood development, family life education life skill programme and Winston bar license course. She however has since moved into the agriculture field where now cultivates corn, sweet pepper, eddoes, eggplant, okra and hot pepper. She uses organic methods and farms outdoors. Ms. Shoy also rears animals in the form of pigs and goats to supplement her income.

Tishorn Edwards resides in Chateaubelair and has six CSEC subjects from the Petit Bordel Secondary School. He started farming at age 13 and does his farming outdoors. He practices mixed farming as he has a wide variety of animals on his farm and focuses mainly on vegetables. His practices are organic and he mainly targets traffickers and shop owners.

Lauricia practices open organic farming and focuses on goats, sheep and poultry. She is also involved in the cultivation of sweet peppers, cabbage, broccoli, lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes. She sees herself as one who can feed the nation and drive food security.

Kareem is a small scale farmer who plants tomatoes, sweet peppers, lettuce, cucumbers, okras, chives and pumpkins. He is into organic opening farming and aspires to expand into the usage of greenhouses. He adds to his income through the rearing of goats and sheep.

Raphique is a vegetable farmer looking to expand. Currently he focuses on organic farming in the open. He plants principally tomatoes, okras and cucumbers.
