Biographies of Nominees

Adia Daniel

Adia Daniel, a 19-year-old Vincentian advocate and youth leader, is a passionate voice for mental health, climate action, and gender equality across the Caribbean. Adia is a graduate of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College, where she pursued studies in Law, Biology, and Chemistry, reflecting her dual interests in Marine Biology and Human Rights. Her dedication to service and leadership has been nurtured through eight years of involvement with the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Girl Guides Association. During this time, she earned the organisation’s highest distinction, Chief Commissioner’s Guide Award (2023), and now serves as a Young Leader.

Adia’s advocacy extends across national, regional, and international boundaries. She currently serves as the UNICEF Eastern Caribbean National Youth Mental Health Focal Point for St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and was selected as a UNICEF Eastern Caribbean Youth Advocacy Guide Champion Trainer (2023). She co-authored the “Young Caribbean Minds” Resource Hub funded by USAID, UNICEF, Let’s Unpack It, and Healthy Caribbean Coalition, and co-organized the UNICEF Eastern Caribbean Mental Health & Climate Change Webinar (2024). In recognition of her growing influence, Adia was appointed to the Climate Change Sector of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Prime Ministerial Advisory Council on Youth (2024), where she continues to contribute to policy dialogue on climate resilience and sustainable development.

Adia has represented her country and the Caribbean at numerous high-level international forums. She spoke at the UNICEF Executive Board Meeting (2024) and the United Nations Economic and Social Council Youth Forum (2025), addressing Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and serving as a panellist in the Caribbean Regional Breakout Session. She also served as a panellist at the For All Women and Girls: UN Women Beijing+30 Fireside Chat 2025 on Action #6: Climate Justice, and the UNICEF Eastern Caribbean & UN Women Caribbean’s “Girls’ Vision for the Future” International Day of the Girl Child Panel (2024). Her active engagement in sustainable development and climate advocacy includes participation in the 4th International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and the SIDS Global Children and Youth Action Summit (2024). Adia also contributed to the Caribbean Youth Declaration on Environment and Climate Justice (2025), and was a featured Speaker at the Caribbean Youth Environment and Climate Change Conference (2025). Most recently, she joined the HEY Campaign Global Network Summit on Climate Change and Health (2025) as a panellist, advocating for the intersection of youth, health, and climate policy.

A strong believer in creative expression, Adia co-founded the In Transit Exports Performing Arts Group at the St. Vincent Girls’ High School, combining artistry with advocacy. Her leadership was also evident during her tenure as President of the Peer Counsellors Association (2022–2023), where she promoted peer support and mental wellness among students. Known among peers as “the epitome of service above self, ”Adia continues to work with organisations including UNICEF Eastern Caribbean, UN Women Caribbean, Unite 2030, the Caribbean Youth Gender & Equality Network, and Equal Rights, Access & Opportunities SVG to amplify youth voices in decision-making spaces. Her skills span public speaking, leadership, project management, community engagement, communications, and policy advocacy. Her guiding philosophy remains simple yet powerful: ‘Speak up, find your niche, work on it, and create change.’

Annaliese Mapp

Annaliese Mapp is a passionate youth leader and advocate for Caribbean innovation, unity, and empowerment. She is a student of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College, where she continues to excel academically and in leadership. Annaliese has served as Treasurer for her classes, the Intellect Collective Club, and the No. 23 Ranger Guide Unit, demonstrating her strong sense of responsibility and dedication to service. 

Through these roles, she has led initiatives that foster collaboration, mentorship, and community engagement among her peers. She has represented her country and school as a Caribbean Single Market and Economy (CSME) delegate and as one of the St. Vincent Girls’ High School delegates to the Good Shepherd Episcopal School (GSES) in Dallas, Texas, promoting regional and international dialogue, cultural exchange, and youth-driven projects. Annaliese was also a proud participant in CARIFESTA 2025, where she deepened her appreciation for Caribbean culture and creativity. Also in 2025, she graduated from the Student Programme for Innovation in Science and Engineering (SPISE), a prestigious programme for top regional students, where she earned two group awards for excellence in teamwork and innovation.

Recognised for her outstanding leadership and service, she is an awardee of the Chief Commissioner’s Guide Award, the SOL Award, and the Best Prefect Award. With aspirations of becoming a software engineer, Annaliese is committed to using technology to strengthen regional integration, to empower Caribbean youth, and to drive sustainable development both regionally and internationally, inspiring others to collaborate and create positive change.
