Background

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Prime Minister Advisory Council on Youth (PMACY) recognizes the crucial role that the church plays in shaping societal values and influencing individuals within the community. Acknowledging this, the PMACY has established a specialised committee, the Church Sector Committee, to focus on harnessing the church potential to contribute positively to society. This committee aims to facilitate a collaborative partnership between the Government, youth, and the church to address key societal issues and promote holistic development. 

Vision

A harmonious society where the church works with the Government and youth, positively impacting individual perceptions, community cohesion, and overall societal well-being. 

Mission

To engage, empower, and collaborate with the church in St. Vincent and the Grenadines to drive positive change, foster community development, and inspire the youth towards a purposeful and values-driven life. 

Objectives: 

  1. Recommend educational campaigns within church communities to foster engagement, address societal issues and promote positive values. 
  2. Advocate for greater collaboration between the church and community to alter beliefs and perceptions. 

Scope of Service:

The specific objectives are as follows:

Conduct, in consultation with all relevant stakeholders (Ministry of Ecclesiastical Affairs, Churches, Christian Council) a Church Sector readiness assessment for the development of the Church Sector, determine the most sustainable and effective approach for the implementation of recommendations to drive the sector within St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

  1. The assessment should include an evaluation of perceptions of the church within society and the level of awareness and education, thereafter provide recommendations.
  2. The assessment should assess current mentorship programmes, awareness campaigns and societal issues, community building activities and projects and provide suggestions for improvements.
