Background

The Regional Integration and Foreign Policy sector strives to be a globally recognised institution promoting the advancement of youth in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines by establishing and amplifying the youth voice on matters related to regional integration and foreign policy. Further, the mission is to empower and mobilise Vincentian youth as active agents of change, fostering a culture of research, advocacy, and representation, to harness the benefits of regional integration and boost the foreign policy of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Mission

To empower and mobilise Vincentian youth as active agents of change, fostering a culture of research, advocacy, and representation, to harness the benefits of regional integration and boost the foreign policy of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

Objectives

  1. To develop leadership training programs that equip young leaders with the skills necessary to represent their peers and country in the international arena. 
  2. To strengthen mechanisms for collaboration and cooperation amongst relevant government (local, regional, and international), non-government, and community stakeholders.
  3. To make available reliable and up-to-date information on the youth development situation in the country, to inform policy making and program design with respect to regional integration and foreign policy.

Scope of Services:

The specific objectives are as follows:

Conduct, in consultation with all relevant stakeholders a Regional Integration and Foreign Policy Sector readiness assessment for the development of the Regional Integration and Foreign Policy Sector in line with regional and international best practices and frameworks, determine the most sustainable and effective approach for the implementation of recommendations to drive the sector within St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

  1. The assessment should include an evaluation of the current training programs for youth to represent peers in the international arena and provide recommendations to strengthen collaboration and cooperation amongst stakeholders.
  2. The assessment should explore the possibility of establishing platforms to provide information to inform policy making and the development of programs, thematic issues of national priority, the sharing of ideas and networking.
  3. The assessment should explore the avenues for the youth to develop policy proposals pertaining to national challenges that can be addressed through regional integration.
