Background

The Grenadines Sector is the sector that encompasses a portion of all of the sectors within the (PMACY), thus making it the most versatile. The Grenadines is known mainly for Tourism and some of the best sailing waters in the world. Hence, one must take full advantage of these resources. Notwithstanding that, in recent times, the creative industry in the Grenadines has been on the upward trend. The Grenadines Sector within the Council seeks to involve the youth to preserve and build on the foundation in the Grenadines.

To engage and equip our youth, while advocating on their behalf and empowering them to be a catalysts for economic and sustainable development.

Mission

To harness the skills, talents, and potential of the youth of the Grenadines while empowering them to make meaningful contributions to their communities through volunteerism, their professions, and dialogue pertaining to national development through inclusion, while tapping into the power of our youth to ensure the Grenadines flourishes economically and becomes more resilient. 

Objectives

  1. To engage, educate, and empower the youth from the Grenadines about the core sectors within the economy.
  2. Encourage and promote the creation of/or reviving of sports clubs as a means of positively engaging and developing the skills of our young men and women while promoting discipline, effective communication, problem-solving and strengthening their self-esteem and ability to function within a team.
  3. Promote inclusion, collaboration, and communication among the various stakeholders in the Grenadines in an effort to build stronger networks, strengthen community spirit and build resilient communities.
  4. Increase food production in the Grenadines while promoting agritourism and the consumption of local agricultural products.
  5. Encourage the development and implementation of strategies to preserve and promote our local history and culture.

Scope of Service:

The specific objectives are as follows:

Conduct, in consultation with all relevant stakeholders a Grenadines Sector readiness assessment for the development of the Grenadines Sector in line with regional and international best practices and frameworks, determine the most sustainable and effective approach for the implementation of recommendations to drive the sector within St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

  1. The assessment should include an evaluation of the history, creative industry and culture within the Grenadines and make recommendations to preserve, promote, market and monetize.
  2. The assessment should explore the possibility of reviving dormant sports clubs and the development of water sports to drive tourist entertainment and community activity.
  3. The assessment should explore the current communication channels and networks in the Grenadines for greater interconnectivity.
  4. The assessment should assess the possibility of further monetizing through agritourism/tourism and make recommendations to advance yachting.
